MetamorphosisIn the short story, Metamorphosis, the narrator describes Gregors new-fangledlife as an insect. He then goes on to describe Gregors sister, Grete,with a reflection of Gregors opinion in the description. This is supported with the imageryof his vision weakening. The imagery reflects a tone of pessimism, inthat Gregor is loosing hope for a recovery. All the imagery serves tosympathies with Gregor because his situation is depicted as bleak.The symbol of Gregors knowledge is his vision, which is the primarymedium for humans recognise knowledge. With his sight diminishing, he is nolonger able to discover as much as would be able to normally and even starting line to disbelieve his previous knowledge.
